Voice typing for developers
Talk to your editor. Your code stays local.
Dictate long prompts for AI coding agents, commit messages, review comments and docs, about three times faster than typing. Talk2me turns speech into text on your Mac, and the text it reads to place your words never leaves it.
Free in beta, then $10 a year. No account, no card. Mac with Apple silicon.
Why a local dictation layer matters
Prompts and notes hold private context: function names, customer names, internal URLs, incident details. In Cisco's 2024 Data Privacy Benchmark, 48% of respondents admitted entering non-public company information into generative AI tools. Your AI tools are a choice you make on purpose. Your dictation layer should not add one more server to that path.
How Talk2me helps
Long prompts, fast
Talk for up to 10 minutes at a time. Talk2me decodes while you talk, so the text lands soon after you let go.
Your identifiers
A personal dictionary spells kubectl, PostgreSQL and your service names your way.
Context stays local
To place words well, Talk2me reads the text just before your cursor, on your Mac. It never leaves it.
Strict privacy
One switch in Settings keeps every step on your Mac, including text cleanup. No cloud route is possible.
Bring your own key
Want a cloud engine? Use your own API key, straight from your Mac to the provider, with a privacy tag on every route.
Signed updates
Every update is signed and checked. Nothing installs until you say so.
